Andrw Houston is a Hong Kong born, Glasgow based artist who works between the fields of Performance art, film and image making. Their practice explores the activation of co-existent virtual and material (physical) forms. Enacted through durational performance, film, and 3D animation they aim to find the space in between what is “real” and what is not.
Their fascinations are driven by the omnipresence of the internet, and the tools it contains for us to re-fashion our reality and discover new forms of “non-human” connection. They have performed and exhibited for a variety of online and physical platforms including Glasgow International, Buzzcut Glasgow, Venice International Performance art and Video festival and most recently for Digital Artist Residency (online).
Using their body and technology as a site for discussion they employ a camp/queer aesthetic and humour to present creepy digital bodies, fabulous mundane objects, and performances that offer space for thought.
