“One’s Pain Does Not Migrate To The Other”

WHAT: “It hurts, it gets cold, it hurts, it gets cold, it hurts, it gets cold. It does not unite. One’s pain does not migrate to the other. ” (Aslı Serin / Birhan Keskin)

“The pain of being a woman keeps coming back in different forms.” (Meltem Şahin)

Meltem Şahin will listen to over and over again Birhan Keskin and Aslı Serin’s poem “Anıt Sayaç” that deals with femicide while she will be drawing using the mono print technique. “Anıt Sayaç” had been reconfigured and divided into 32 lines by Elvin Eroğlu. 

In her performance titled “One’s Pain Does Not Migrate To The Other”, who is placing herself into a circle of lines, is searching for a way to create a visual connection with the dialogue of the two poets. Within the scope of this project, 160. Kilometre yayınları (160. Kilometre publications) will publish Şahin’s drawings in a book under the editorship of Elvin Eroğlu. Documentations of the performance will be later displayed in border_less Art Book Days 2021.
