Felix Urbina (Mexico City, 1992) is a dancer and performer, currently based in Reykjavik.
As a creator he likes to explore the grey areas of expression and communication, making emphasis on those aesthetics and motions that cannot be described linearly, but rather invite to the imagination and the sensual appreciation. Within his practice he likes to draw together elements of dance, improvisation and performativity, and wishes to explore different ideas surrounding the experience of the physical, the oniric and allegorical, identity, the idea of “otherness”, touch and the sense of belonging.
He has developed his artistic research within different workshops and residencies in Salzburg (SEAD, Szene Studio), Mexico (El Entresuelo/Los14, etc.) and Iceland (FWD youth company).
He currently works as a dancer at the Iceland Dance Company.
