Meltem is an artist from Turkey. After graduating from Graphic Design with a first degree, she completed a master’s degree in illustration at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), where she was a Fulbright scholar. In 2015, she has been awarded with MICA Graduate Research Development Grant for her projects with electronics and Arduino. The book that she illustrated lastly, P is for Pussy, got shown in Huffington Post, Bitch Media, DesignTAXI and BuzzFeed. The animation “Flow” received awards and has been shown in 6 different countries. In 2016, she opened her first solo show of animations and retro toys, “Negative Pleasure”, in Baltimore, USA. In 2017, she curated the first AR show of Turkey called PMS which consists of 22 female artists. In 2017, her illustration was selected for American Illustration. This year she exhibited her work in 5 different shows including Dumphaus in Tokyo as part of the Wrong Biennale. Recently, she is creating AR filters, and AI generated pieces.
