Nina Kane

Born in 1972, Dr Nina Kane has worked in community arts, life-modelling, arts research, performance and teaching since the early 1990s. She is artistic director of Cast-Off Drama, a not-for-profit theatre project, pioneering radical new performance practice and theories in life-model/life-drawer exchange since 2002 – https://castoffdrama.blogspot.com. Recent collaborations include Queer Eye/PoMoGaze (Leeds Art Gallery, 2013-2015), Caul @ York Art Gallery/Flesh exhibition (2016-2017) and the Japan-Britain Contemporary Theatre Exchange with Tokyo-based director Tomoco Kawaguchi (2012-ongoing). Nina is a dramaturgical specialist on the playwright Sarah Kane, and recently collaborated with Tomoco Kawaguchi and composer Kousuke Suzuki on the contemporary punk opera version of 4.48 Psychosis (2018-2020).
