“Selections: performistanbul.data/watch” is part of SENKRON Simultaneous Video Exhibitions!

Performistanbul presents within the scope of “SENKRON Simultaneous Video Exhibitions” the screening program titled Selections: performistanbul.data/watch, revealing a selection of performances recorded to date with various mediums and techniques. By focusing on three main topics: edited, non-edited video recordings and performance video for camera without the presence of an audience, the exhibition examines the varieties of performance art documentations and the kinship between those variations.

Performance for Camera contains Dila Yumurtacı – Ouroboros (2020), Leman Sevda Darıcıoğlu – Hello I am Leman, a woman artist from Turkey (2017) and Selin Kocagöncü – Smile (2017), Performance Documentation includes AslieMk – Concrete (2016), Batu Bozoğlu – Cycle (2017) and Ekin Bernay – Mother and I (2016), Performance Video comprises Ebru Sargın L. – Goodbye – Hello (2016), İ. Ata Doğruel – Modesty (2018), Gülhatun Yıldırım – Spell of Destruction (2019) and Özlem Ünlü – Tape (2018) videos. Together with the screenings, the visitors also have the opportunity to examine the physical remains of selected performances on Performistanbul’s live art collection floor.

Performistanbul Live Art Research Space’s visitors may view over 100 performance documentation videos that are in the Performistanbul archive, transferred from LADA, the London-based Live Art Library, by making their own selection of performance documentation videos from the DVD’s available in the library.
